“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.”
― Anita Desai
I have come across a great post on lessons learnt from travelling to 25 countries. Travel is fascinating: people wander in totally different styles and yet get inspired by the same things and share the same philosophy. I got so inspired by this collection of tips and impressions that wrote a summary of my own learnings from travelling and living abroad.
It was then that I decided to count the counties I traveled to. (So far I have only counted my countries of residence, which total nine over the last nine years.)
So for now I have counted 43 countries, with some uneven (sub-optimal) distribution across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. It is not exactly a coincidence that the most used tag in this blog is #wanderlust.

P.S. I took this beautiful graph from amcharts (it was also there that I was reminded that Vatican City is a country), in case you are inspired to make your own travel map.
